Film Review: Descend the Caves of “Look Then Below," via WORT
Ben Rivers’ “Look Then Below” creates an immersive spell of deep time far exceeding its 23 minutes. Filmed in the Wookey Hole Caves near the avant-garde filmmaker’s hometown of Somerset, England, it is the third of a collaborative trilogy with science fiction writer Mark von Schlegell. Incantatory text is read with mesmerizing understatement by screenwriter Therese Henningsen, and perfectly complemented by Christina Vantzou’s spare soundtrack.
